The 45-year-old "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" actor quietly completed a 10-day stint in rehab to detox from heroin and prescription pill abuse, reports TMZ . He checked out of the East Coast facility on May 24 and has since reported to work on the set of a movie in Europe.
The Academy Award winner has struggled with substance abuse in the past, but was clean for 23 years before falling off the wagon, reports the website. He first began using prescription pills and accelerated to snorting heroin. After using the highly addictive drug for about a week, he realized he had a serious problem and immediately sought treatment at the detox facility.

Hoffman, who has three young children with costume designer Mimi O'Donnell, told the website that "a great group of friends and family" influenced him to seek treatment and supported him throughout the process.
In addition to the second installment of "Hunger Games," Hoffman will appear with Rachel McAdams in the thriller "A Most Wanted Man" later this year as well as "God's Pocket" in 2014. The latter is directed by "Mad Men" star John Slattery and also stars Christina Hendricks, who appears on the AMC series.<br />
A rep for Manhattan-based Hoffman, who has been a courtside fixture at Knicks games all season, has not yet responded to omg!'s request for comment.
