A final judgment for their divorce was entered Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, according to papers obtained by omg!. Cox, 48, and Arquette, 41, cited the usual "irreconcilable differences" as to why they decided to terminate their marriage. The "Scream" stars announced their separation in October 2010 after 11 years of marriage. Cox and Arquette then filed for divorce on the same day in June 2012, which would have been their 13th wedding anniversary. In Hollywood terms, Cox and Arquette have had one of the smoothest and most amicable breakups in history.
The couple has joint custody of their daughter Coco, 8, and have remained legitimate friends since splitting up. "I don't recommend divorce in general, but he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed, and I think we both appreciate each other more," Cox said on "The Ellen DeGeneres" show this past January. If only more celebrity exes could behave like these two.
